Data center prices, out in the open

A network of five sites about the data center market. Each publishes what usually hides behind a quote request: colocation prices, capacity, construction, GPU rental and land with power already in place.

The five sites

  • Coloprice

The flagship: a public colocation price index ($/kW by market) and a catalog of the world’s data centers.

    coloprice.com

  • Megawattlas

An atlas of data centers: interactive map, tracker of projects under construction and announced, megawatts by country.

    megawattlas.com

  • Watt & Rack

Colocation priced by its real components, power and space: published prices, provider comparison and quotes.

    wattandrack.com

  • Compute Census

AI compute: a GPU rental price index and a census of AI campuses in megawatts, plus GPU sourcing requests.

    computecensus.com

  • Megawatt Acres

Powered land for data centers: matching landowners near substations with data center developers.

    megawattacres.com

Who it is for

  • Colocation buyers

Racks, cages and megawatts: prices compared by market and a facility matched to the load.

  • AI teams

GPUs and servers for rent and for purchase — from different partners; terms are individual for every request.

  • Landowners and developers

Sites near substations with power in place — and the data center developers looking for them.

  • Analysts and journalists

Quarterly reports and index data under CC BY 4.0 — cite them with a link.

How a request works

  1. Request

Through the form on any site of the network, or here: what you need, where and how much.

  2. Matching

We check the request against the catalog and our partners: operators, site owners, GPU suppliers.

  3. Terms

Individual for every request and set in writing before work starts.

Questions

Where do Coloprice index prices come from?

Wholesale rates come from published CBRE and JLL reports, normalised to US dollars per kW of IT load per month. Retail prices appear only where the operator publishes a rate card itself.

Can I use the data in my own publication?

Yes. Reports and index data are licensed CC BY 4.0: cite them with attribution.

Do you rent out or sell GPUs?

GPUs and servers are available both for rent and for purchase — from different partners. Terms are individual: describe the task and I will come back with options.
